About the academy

More than a
barber school.

Bloom & Blade Barber Academy was established to provide high-quality barber education rooted in skill, professionalism, and real-world preparation.

The academy is committed to developing students who are not only technically proficient, but also confident, disciplined, and prepared to succeed in today's barbering industry. Education goes beyond the classroom: students train in a professional environment that reflects real industry standards.

Our mission
Carissa Esposito, owner and instructor at Bloom & Blade Barber Academy

Meet the owner & instructor

Carissa Esposito

“My goal is to pass that same passion and confidence on to the next generation of barbers.”

Carissa became a licensed cosmetologist in 2004, but it did not take long for her to realize that her heart was in barbering. What began as curiosity quickly became a passion. Over the years, she has performed hundreds of thousands of haircuts, sharpening her skills and deepening her love for the craft.

She spent more than 10 years cutting hair in barbershops throughout Seattle before moving to Spokane and continuing her barbering career for another 10 years. Working with a wide range of clients and specializing in all hair types and textures taught her technique, adaptability, cultural awareness, and the importance of truly understanding each client.

With a passion for the craft and a focus on high-quality training, Carissa created an educational environment centered on hands-on experience, professionalism, and real-world preparation. Her vision is to develop barbers who are technically skilled, confident, reliable, and equipped to build lasting relationships with their clients and communities.
